Slender, amber-brown bees with a lightly fuzzy thorax. Watch for full pollen baskets on the hind legs.

What to look for

  • Amber to golden-brown body
  • Slender, moderately fuzzy thorax
  • Pollen baskets on hind legs
  • Often many on the same plant
Don’t mix up with
Small bees are tinier and often metallic; honey bees are amber and uniform.
